"Ziggy, the Dragon, the bold Nurse & the Swan Song" is the final part of Woosh'ing Mach'ine's tetralogy, very freely inspired by the Ring of the Nibelungs by Richard Wagner.

The three protagonists, the Hero Siegfried (Ziggy), the Dwarf Mime (his adopted father) and the Valkyrie Brunhilde (Siegfried's mistress) find themselves catapulted into the mud and vapours of the Norwegian Dragon Fafner, the epic and propitiatory location of great Wagnerian opus.

Left to their own devices in a game of enforced cohabitation, Siegfried, Mime and Brünhilde decide to reinterpret the story, and recreate a new world far away from the challenges of opera.

Despite a powerful force that seems to monitor their gestures from afar, they shed their 'romantic hero' skins and let themselves freely experience the impacts of their ordinary, primitive and vulnerable bodies.

However, can we rely on the three fallen heroes to repair the failure of Wagnerian utopia?

Will they find the required strength and temerity to convert this post-apocalyptic world (disguised as a play area and campsite) into a genuine, flourishing Eden?

Will Brünhilde be able to channel the passions and impulses of a hero prone to folly and an oafish stepfather?

Under the watchful eye of Fafnar the Dragon, it looks like a most unusual, bewildering threesome.

A veritable epic Nordic swan song, that is more than a little out of the ordinary.
Faithful to the Wagnerian tradition and the creational dynamics used by Woosh'ing Mach'ine, "Ziggy, the Dragon, the bold Nurse & the Swan Song" is located at a crossroads between artistic genres, combining plastic arts, sound and choreography.

Ziggy is the path taken by four artists (an Italian male dancer/actor, an English female dancer, a French male videographer/guitarist and a French male composer) who survived a natural catastrophe: Wagner.

But Ziggy is also a threesome on an empty campsite.

Ziggy is a sacred couple and a fake dwarf; or a father and son & a blonde goddess; or two Wagnerian men and one Wagnerian woman in a square of German peat.
Ziggy is the hope that a potato field may one day become a Paradise.
Ziggy is the country and pop saga of three fallen heroes unable to fight against a mole.
Ziggy is a post-apocalyptic opera deprived of heroes.
Ziggy is a post-apocalyptic opera deprived of Wagner.
Ziggy is a post-Valhalla opera deprived of opera.
Ziggy is a swan song.

ZIGGY ENTERS THE RING - MAURO PACCAGNELLA SUBVERS WAGNER
MAURO PACCAGNELLA SUBVERS WAGNER
Since 2006 choreographer Mauro Paccagnella has been turning Wagner's Ring tetralogy into an outrageous soap opera. He has now arrived at the fourth part which he entitles Ziggy, the Dragon, the bold Nurse & the Swan Song. It all happens on the ground, amid flowers, moles and potatoes.
