Ladies and Gentlemen, this is The Golden Gala, the third part of tetralogy The Siegfried Swan Song devoted to Richard Wagner. After Siegfried Forever and Bayreuth FM, the New Wagnerian Circle of Belgium (NCWdelaBe), made up of the choreographer's close-knit band of dancers and musicians – and joined here by wonderful Argentine dancer Ayelen Parolin – are to be found toying this year with the mongrel that is the gala. Six characters share the stage with one goal in mind: to get you on their side... and thus collect funds for their cause!
As such, the fate of the NCWdelaBe is in your hands.
A tragically Wagnerian challenge in stark contrast with the drollness of performances, touching in its simplicity: two tutu-clad characters revisit Swan Lake and play with the codes of classical dance, a musician in his undergarments sings with a ukulele, an actor hosts the gala wearing a spangled jacket reminiscent of the cabarets of Eastern Europe... But the spangles it holds are not made of sequins alone: its musical intensity, tenderness and moments of pure beauty will dazzle you too.

Bewildering and off-kilter, the Gala will take place as a matter of urgency, in the necessity of action at any cost, in the certainty that the saving of humanity depends only on vigorous, decisive action, a deep and exclusive commitment, and an intrepid, willing group spirit.
